HarzOptics - Saxony-Anhalt's premier Photonics Research Think Tank

HarzOptics specializes in research and development of optical communication systems. Aside from the production of fiber lenses for glass fibers and the development of a POF-WDM lab system for universities and vocational schools, several patents have already been submitted and dozens of photonics research papers and books have been published by members of the HarzOptics family.

HarzOptics members have also received several scientific prizes and awards for the companys photonics research efforts. During the start-up phase in 2005, the State Secretary of Commerce, Dr. Horst Rehberger, personally lauded the HarzOptics business idea as one of the Top Ten new business ideas in Saxony-Anhalt. And in November 2006, two of the founding members of HarzOptics - Jens-Uwe Just and Christian Reinboth - were honored by the Magdeburg Chamber of Commerce, alongside their colleague Matthias Haupt from Harz University, with the award of the Chamber's prestigious Research Prize. 

Over the next years, HarzOptics plans to initiate several regional and national photonics research projects, especially in the area of fiber optics research and development.
