Optics Research at HarzOptics - 3dB Couplers and other components

Since the late 1990's, outsourcing has become a major economical trend. Catering, cleaning services, facility management, security - a lot of these jobs are outsourced to external companies that can offer great services at low costs due to their specialization. Why not externalize optics research and development as well - and let the HarzOptics team deliver high quality engineering work to you?

At HarzOptics, we do not only have the necessary know-how as well as years of experience in photonics R&D, we also have the measuring equipment and software tools that come with a big price tag - if you want to do your own R&D. HarzOptics offers to assist in the development of wholesale optical communication systems or single components and accompanies the entire process from the first concept right down to the testing of the prototype.

Aside from digital and analog transmitters and receivers for optical data communication via polymer fibers and optical multiplexers and demultiplexers for WDM systems, HarzOptics has also already developed sensoric systems for the automotive industry

One of the technical highlights is a 50:50 3dB coupler for POF with low insertion loss and cross talk, perfectly suitable for a multitude of potential applications such as optical networks or WDM systems. You can find more information about the 3dB couplers and splitters in our PDF datasheet.

For the software supported modeling of an integrated optical demultiplexer, Jens-Uwe Just and Christian Reinboth from the HarzOptics team, along with their colleague Matthias Haupt, were honered by the Magdeburg Chamber of Commerce in 2006 with the Chamber's prestigious Research Prize.
